Roslyn used to be a mining town before a tourist attraction.

There is a brewery in Roslyn.

This is the Salmon la Sac Campground. We beleive that Reed took the high road,
which goes to Tucquala Lake, 10 miles to the north. A few miles past the lake is a
tailhead, where we beleive Reed parked his Jeep and headed west on a trail towards
Squaw Lake. We plan to take another field trip late this summer to get closer to
this site.

The Cle Elum river can be seen through the trees.

Just south of Salmon la Sac is Fire Road 46. This could be an alternate path that
Reed took
to the Alpine Lake Wilderness. This road goes to Cooper Lake, which is about 5 miles
past this point.

Lake Cle Elum. Great view, great beach. Tons of sand and small rock.
This photo
is taken looking across the lake to the west. The mountains are part of the
Kachess Ridge. Kachess Lake is on the other side. This is well south of
the Reed enounter area.
