Charpy has known Rod since 1993.  He has and is still working at the Subase Bangor Public Works Department with a short stint at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS).  

He and I have been to Mariners games along with "the gang", and have went camping together a few times.  We have not done much together of late, however.

I can say that he had an influence on where I am living now.  He used to live in the same development, and upon visiting him I enjoyed the neighborhood.  He has joined us in a few of our neighborhood poker games.

Rod is one who tried to get me into running some years ago.  I was not interested at the time.  Now I can probably run circles around him ;-)
