My home network consists of 4 computers and a printer. The computers have their own IP address and domain name (Charpy.com). I have a 5-IP subnet from TSCNet. My modem is connected 24 hours a day to TSCnet. Phynity has a computer at TSCNet running virtual websites under NT Server. Below is a brief listing of the systems. Further below is a more detailed description.

Back in June 1999, Donavon and I wired my house for CAT5, Phone, and CATV. Not every room had phone and CATV access. Now every root has everything. Everything is terminated in the garage. I have an 8-port HUB in the garage to connect the computers. I have a few additional CAT5 runs in the garage for Phynity meetings. Even though there is a computer in the garage, I will bring a couple others for the meetings.
SYS0 is my gateway to the Internet. I have a second phone line that is online (almost) 24 hours a day. It is running Linux, and has a CRON that check for network connectivity. If no connectivity, it redials and establishes a PPP connection. It is running my own internal DNS and SETI@Home.
SYS1 is MY COMPUTER. It's the system that I spend most of my time on. It's a Pentium III running at 933mhz. It was purchased in Feb of '01. It's running a recently purchased copy of Windows XP, which I have grown to work well with. I have ICQ, Messenger, and SETI@Home running on it. It runs MS Office 2000 Professional and Frontpage 2000. I hook up my HP Jornada handheld PC and my digital camera to it. It also has a CD Reader/Writer and DVD Player.
SYS2 is MY WIFE'S COMPUTER. It is running Windows 98. What sets it apart is the internal PCMCIA reader, which is mainly used for the SmartMedia Reader I have for the Olympus Camera. This is running SETI@Home when powered up.
SYS3 is my printer. An HP 880C
SYS4 is a Laptop. Only running a P75, it locks up running Win98. I have it dual boot Linux and Windows v3.11. It crunches SETI data at a S L O W rate.
SYS5 is my server. It's a Pentium Pro running at 200MHZ. Slow, but works fine as my server. It's in the garage and has a Soundblaster LIVE MP3, with a very good digital 5.1 surround sound system. Yeah, it runs as a very good music jukebox with all my MP3's.
WWW is the current Phynity server. It is physically located at Phynity.
All OS and Application software has been purchased by myself, and are legal, legitimate copies, including NT (BackOffice) Server, NT Workstation, Windows XP, Win98, and Office Professional. All Linux systems are running the SLACKWARE distribution.
