Charpy's Boot Camp

I arrived in San Diego with a few others from the Pacific Northwest on July 7th.   We were checked in, then we did the haircut thing, the Seabag issue thing, and the bunk assignment thing.  We were known as Company 103.  I guess it was the 103rd group of recruits in 1978.

The 8 weeks in Boot Camp were not too tough.   It's unbelievable that some people "flunked" it.  Oh well, survival of the fittest I guess.

Don't remember the names and faces of everyone, but I do have a list of everyone in Company 103.  I do have "The Anchor", which was published at RTC.

There is ONE individual that I went to High School with.  We were in different companies, but stayed in touch.  Last time we got together was our 20 year High School Reunion, which is documented here.  Today he lives and works in the greater Seattle area.

I did have a camera with me, and took several photos.  It's amazing that I still have them.  I have scanned them all.  24 of them.  There are no photos of me, because I was taking the photos.   I would hope that someone would recognize themselves here.  If so, let me know.

The photos had to be scanned with little compression, so each one is about 40-60k
